Festivals
Every festival, with the rule that sets its date.
Festival days are fixed by each festival’s own rule at your place — which is why dates can differ between cities, and why a sunrise-only calendar sometimes lands on the wrong day.

Shaded days carry a festival in Parbhani. Today is outlined.
Why dates disagree
Each festival has its own rule. Some follow the tithi at sunrise; others follow the tithi at midday, in the afternoon or in the evening. A calendar that only reads the tithi at sunrise will sometimes print the wrong day.
And the rule is applied at your place. Sunrise, noon and sunset differ from city to city, so the same festival can fall on different days in different parts of India.
